Many dental practices are reporting higher patient volume, which indicates that many patients are willing to return to their normal professional dental care routine. The American Dental Association Health Policy Institute organized a poll that showed that 88% of patients have either sought dental care or are planning to do so since the pandemic began. Patient volume is at approximately 80% of the pre-pandemic levels. The group anticipates that full recovery for dental practices should happen in the summer or fall. They believe that some Americans are waiting to be vaccinated before they seek dental care. It is also believed that the remaining 12% of patients will not return for dental care until the pandemic is better under control.
