“Script Ohio” was first performed in October of 1936 under the direction of Eugene Weigel.  The formation was inspired by the sign of the Loew’s Ohio Theatre in downtown Columbus.  During each performance of Script Ohio, a fourth or fifth year sousaphone player is chosen to dot the “i.”  It has become a staple in Ohio Stadium.  During the Alumni Band football game, there are usually four Script Ohio’s performed at the same time for each of the four sides of the stadium.  It is a wonderful Ohio State tradition — GO BUCKS!
