There seems to be a day for everything now.  Just a few days ago was National Chocolate Cake Day. But this one really made us feel warm inside on a cold winter day … today is National Plan for Vacation Day!  It’s a day to encourage Americans to declare their vacation days for the year.  People who plan are more likely to use their time off and report greater levels of happiness in various categories measured.  Americans forfeited approximately 206 million vacation days in 2016.  These were days that could not be rolled over, could not be paid out, were not banked, or used for any other benefit.  It’s interesting that senior business leaders claim that about 91% of their employees return from vacation recharged and renewed, and they are ready to work more effectively.  So whether you actually leave town or make it a “staycation,” start planning out those vacation days now!
